This commission resulted from the yoga paintings from one of the yoga students. She wanted to surprise her boyfriend for his birthday with a painting of him and one of his favorite band members... Lars, the drummer from Metallica. It was a great excuse to dust off my Metallica CDs and rock out while I painted. Here is the finished piece, some close ups and the beginning stages. I would have done more of the closer to finished stages but I could not find my camera to save my life!
